Ontario Plans to Ease PR Eligibility.

The Ontario government is proposing changes to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) to increase the eligibility of international students for the provincial nominee program.
This change includes revising eligibility requirements for one-year college graduate certificate programs, benefiting over 900 such programs in the province.
The changes aim to make it easier for international students to obtain permanent residency and remove the requirement for Canadian work experience in job advertising and applications.
These proposed changes may be approved soon, effective next year.
Additionally, various professional licensing bodies will no longer require Canadian work experience for licensing, aiming to help newcomers find employment in their fields.
These changes are part of an effort to support immigrants with foreign training, potentially boosting the province’s GDP.
